V-FloFans and Jiashan HX Sino-Dutch Horticulture Innovation Center

Vostermans Ventilation, via its Chinese dealer Changzhou Dingdian, has significantly contributed to one of the world's most advanced horticultural greenhouses. A total of 116 V-FloFans operate continuously to maintain optimal growing conditions. This case study delves into this remarkable project.

Jiashan HX Sino-Dutch Horticulture Innovation Center

On November 29, 2023, the Jiashan HX Sino-Dutch Horticulture Innovation Center was officially inaugurated in Jiashan's Economic Development Zone. This pioneering project has since then been highlighted on Dutch television and widely covered by various media outlets.

Agricultural Innovation

The center is situated in the Modern Agricultural Science and Technology Park of Sino-Dutch Industrial Park Phase 3. It aims to enhance agricultural production efficiency, secure grain and oil supplies, and advance knowledge in digital agricultural technologies. The center's approach to digital agricultural innovation stands out in three key areas:

  • Largest Digital Planting Area: The center boasts the largest digital planting area for leafy vegetable seedlings in Asia and is the first to fully implement digital production and planting modules.
  • Three-Dimensional Seedling Plant: It features Asia's largest fully enclosed three-dimensional seedling plant, with a planting area of just 720 square meters.
  • Seedling Cultivation: The center has the capacity to cultivate 14 million seedlings annually.

Collaboration with Wageningen University

The center collaborates closely with Wageningen University in the Netherlands to conduct vegetable cultivation experiments. This partnership not only indicates the future direction of agricultural development but also helps cultivate agricultural talent in the Jiashan region. Given that the V-FloFan was developed in cooperation with Wageningen University and has been successfully applied worldwide, it was a natural choice to use the Multifan V-FloFan for optimizing air circulation in horticultural greenhouses.

Multifan V-FloFan

The Multifan V-FloFan, developed over 10 years ago with Wageningen University, aims to efficiently mix upper and lower air layers, aligning with the 'Next Generation Growing' principle. The indirect airflow creates a subtle airspeed along the plants and at root level, significantly reducing moisture-related plant diseases.

Future Prospects

The Modern Agricultural Science and Technology Park at Sino-Dutch Industrial Park is set to remain a key player in advancing agricultural developments in the region. This project exemplifies the strong cooperation between the Chinese and Dutch governments, contributing substantially to the modernization of Chinese agriculture. This is a region poised to make headlines in the coming years.
