Energy-efficient axial fans

Our standard fans are also available in extra an energy-efficient ECplus and Vplus variant. With the help of the MFD controls, it is possible to lower the speed of these fans on a continuous scale. For every 20% reduction in speed, the fan’s energy consumption is halved. To provide optimum protection for the sensitive electronics inside a controller, the controller is placed in a separate housing with at least IP65 protection class. This is essential to safeguard reliability in even the most extreme environments.

ECplus
ECplus fans are the ultimate combination of high performance, reliability and energy saving capabilities. Tests by the French research institute IFIP (2015) show that ECplus fans save more than 80% of energy compared with traditional systems. In the event of a controller failure, for example, due to a lightning strike, an optional override switch is available for the ECplus. This enables users to run the fan manually at full power, thus limiting business risks.

Vplus
Our fans with Vplus technology are equipped with a permanent magnet motor and an energy-efficient MFD controller. This combination results in fans that are among the most energy-efficient ones in the world (Bess Lab). Compared with existing systems, more than 85% of energy savings are possible with the help of our Vplus technology.

Separately placed speed controllers ensure a reliable installation
Agricultural environments are demanding, which is why we choose to equip our energy efficient fans with a separately placed MFD speed controller (IP65 housing). This means you do not have to worry about any electronic issues at the fan. For ECplus fans, there is an optional override switch available for maximum reliability.

The Pig Innovation Center in Northern Ireland is a test farm for one of the major supermarket groups in the United Kingdom. The research at the Center is carried out to provide the best advises on producing high welfare Pigs. Many tests are performed in the field of the carbon footprint philosophy and energy efficiency, as well as on feed, flooring and animal welfare.

At the Pig Innovation Center one has chosen to install the Multifan ECplus concept in 11 Pig finisher rooms. Major reason for choosing this concept was the high expectations on energy savings. “For farmers it is important that running costs and electric costs per Pig are reduced”, says farm manager Gavin Hodgson. “In addition, for the supermarket group it is important to run the farm efficient as possible as part of the carbon footprint philosophy”.
